What is a women's fraternity/sorority?
Women's Fraternities, otherwise known as sororities, are national or international sisterhoods with chapters at accredited colleges and universities. Sororities offer young women the opportunity to develop professional, "real life" skills -- the skills you will not learn in a classroom.
So how do I join?
The process of introducing you to women's fraternities on campus is called Recruitment. Recruitment provides you with the opportunity to visit with a women's fraternity and become acquainted with current members.
All women at The University of Calgary are invited to participate in Recruitment, regardless of your program or year in school.
When can I join?
Formal Recruitment is at the beginning of each Fall Semester. Women who participate get the opportunity to meet the ladies of both Women's Fraternities on campus and learn all about each group. More information can be found on the Panhellenic website.
Please email the University of Calgary Panhellenic Association for all questions or comments regarding recruitment at panassoc@ucalgary.ca.
